ATANAS BOSTANDJIEV

Atanas Bostandjiev is the Founder and Chairman, responsible for the overall management of the firm and is a member of the Investment Committee. Before founding the firm, Atanas was the CEO of VTB Capital UK and prior to that he was a Partner at Goldman Sachs in London where he was responsible for co-running the Emerging Markets business in Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. Atanas started his career in Merrill Lynch, Frankfurt in 1998.  Atanas holds a BSc degree from Washington College, MD.

PARVOLETA SHTEREVA

Parvoleta Shtereva is responsible for the firm’s investment portfolio, as well as execution and management of investments. She is also a member of the Investment Committee. Parvoleta has spent most of her career managing credit portfolios for Black River Asset Management and Goldman Sachs. She has more than two decades of experience working across Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

FELIPE BERLINER

Felipe Berliner is responsible for the firm’s structuring team and is a member of the Investment Committee. He has spent most of his career at Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs within the emerging markets structuring team. Most recently, he was at VTB Capital working on financing companies, financial institutions and sovereigns in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Asia. Before his banking career, he worked as a capital markets, M&A and project finance lawyer. He holds a Law degree from Universidade Candido Mendes and an MBA from INSEAD.

SIMON PENNEY

Simon Penney was appointed Gemcorp Capital’s Head of Middle East in July 2023. Prior to this, Simon represented the UK Government as His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for the Middle East. During his tenure, Simon successfully led several multi-billion-dollar investment programmes between the UK and various GCC states. Before this, Simon spent more than two decades in the banking sector with extensive experience in investment banking groups across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

GAJ WALLOOPPILLAI OBE

Gaj Wallooppillai is responsible for the Strategy at Gemcorp. He joined the firm having spent over a decade working in the heart of British Politics both in Westminster and Brussels. He served as Chief of Staff to the Conservative Party Chairman and served as International Secretary for the Party. He has previously advised the Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers and successive Conservative Party Chairs. He was awarded an OBE in the Queen's 2021 New Year's Honours List.

SALLY-JANE MILLER

Sally-Jane is Gemcorp’s Group General Counsel and responsible for all of the firm’s legal matters. She also sits on Gemcorp’s Management and Investment Committees. Prior to joining Gemcorp she was General Counsel & Partner at SilverStreet Capital LLP providing legal and compliance coverage. She commenced her career at Linklaters LLP, managing cross-border and cross-practice public and private M&A transactions. She holds an LLB degree in Law and European Legal Studies from the University of Bristol.

 

PATRICK NYAMANGUNDA

Patrick is Gemcorp’s Group Chief Compliance Officer & MLRO and is responsible for all aspects of compliance and regulatory reporting for the Gemcorp group. He sits on Gemcorp’s, Management,  Investment and Operational Risk Committees. Prior to Gemcorp he worked at East Lodge Capital Partners LLP as the Head of Compliance managing all regulatory compliance matters for Europe and US. Prior to this, Patrick worked at Fulcrum Asset Management LLP, PAAMCO Europe LLP and Cordium Consulting Limited in a variety of Compliance managerial roles. Patrick holds a LLB (Hons) Law Degree from the University of Hertfordshire and completed the Bar (BPTC) at City University. He has also completed a Diploma for the Charted Institute for Securities and Investment at BPP University.

LACEY BRADLEY

Lacey Bradley is Head of People and Office Manager. Prior to joining Gemcorp, Lacey spent most of her career at UBS and Goldman Sachs.
